Trick-or-Treat

Since this was Lilly's first Halloween,  I had to go all out in dressing her up and taking tons of pictures of her! I guess I'm just the typical first time mom! Jordan and I went all out in celebrating our first holiday with our daughter. I really wanted to make her costume, but since I'm not a pro at sewing, I decided to make her a cute little Halloween tutu and bow instead. First,we took her to the Dallas Arboretum for some fall pictures when she was only 3 weeks old. We thought this was a good idea, until we saw tons of crazy kids running around and all we could think about was germs and getting stampeded  by 5 year olds. We survived and got some great pictures with our baby girl.

Then, my mom and I took Lilly to a pumpkin patch to take even more pictures of our little spook. :) Once again, I'm not sure that I thought this through enough. Lilly had no interest in staying still for some pictures while she was getting poked by straws of hay.

Finally, on Halloween night, Jordan and I decided to take Lilly to my parents house where we went trick-or-treating with my brother, Sam, and our cousins. I think I had more fun than Lilly or Jordan did. I was so proud to be pushing her stroller and to be stopped by people who complimented on how cute Lilly and he outfit was. I think we started a family tradition by going over to my mom's house and trick-or-treating with our family. There were so many kids and friendly neighbors that I feel like Lilly will have a blast doing this again when she's older.

She was definitely a TREAT to be around this Halloween season! I think next year, I'm going to dress her up like the little pumpkin that she is! :-)
Mommy made my tutu and bow!

Lilly with her buddy Harlen. They didn't care for their tutus or big bows that day!

What's going on? Why are there so many ghosts and goblins running around?
