This year, I wasn't just thankful for a roof over my head, a wonderful husband, family or friends; I was thankful for the precious baby girl I now call my daughter. I just thought I was thankful for material things like nice clothes or new electronics. It wasn't till I had my daughter that I realized all of those things are nice, but there is nothing that can top having your first child...not even your first dog...sorry Max!
We ended up having THREE Thanksgiving dinners...talk about the extra 10 pounds! Thank goodness for burning calories while breast feeding! :) Our first Thanksgiving stop was at my great aunt Linda's where we enjoyed some good country cookin and visiting with family. Then, on Thanksgiving day, we spend the day with my parents and family at my aunt Pam's house. There were so many cousins around Lilly's age there. I cant wait till they are all older and play together during family functions like I did with my cousins...great memories! Of course, while we were there we had to watch the Cowboy's game; one of my families traditions. Now, I'm not a fan of football and definitely not a fan of the Cowboys...so I was going for the Saints...who won btw!!!! All in all it was a great day and I'm glad I got to spend it with my parents and family.
Our last stop was to my in-laws for a late Thanksgiving. With Jordan's brother and sister-in-law out of town it's hard to get the family together, so we opted for a Sunday Thanksgiving dinner. It was wonderful. We had Honey baked ham, sweet potato casserole, green been casserole, and tons of pies! One thing that we like to do at Jordan's parents house is spend time visiting outside next to the chiminea while drinking some cold ones and smoking cigars. I know that may sound taboo, but there's something special about relaxing with your family. Now, that I have Lilly it's hard for me to go outside with all of the smoke, so I can't wait till she's older and on a bedtime schedule were I can enjoy the company of good people and a nice cold one...preferably a dark stout or porter! :)
So, this year, I want to ask you what are you thankful for? I know it's a little late to be talking about Thanksgiving but I would love to know.
